EGRHS Students Perform When Bad Things Happen to Good Actors

Students from East Grand Rapids High School will perform When Bad Things Happen to Good Actors, by Ian McWethy and Jason Pizzarello, on February 27 and 28, 2026. This production is completely student-led, featuring student directors, production staff, cast, and crew.

This play takes audiences “behind the scenes,” where a simple one-act production of The Wizard of Oz gets derailed by missed cues, forgotten lines, and a pushy stage mother who believes her daughter should be the star of the show. This zany comedy proves that, when it comes to live theatre, everything that can go wrong, will go wrong... and it will be hilarious.

When Bad Things Happen to Good Actors is directed by EGRHS students Zoë Cunningham and Frances Schafer. Performances will be in the EGRHS Little Auditorium, at 7:00 p.m., on February 27 and 28, 2026. Tickets are $8 for adults and $6 for students. All EGRHS and EGRMS students can receive ONE FREE TICKET to any performance (with student ID), courtesy of the EGR Stage Boosters! Seating is general admission, and doors open 30 minutes prior to the scheduled curtain time. For more information and tickets, visit egrps.org/theatre.
