EGRPS is looking to hire a student intern for the 2026-2027 school year! The ideal candidate is interested in a career in marketing, media sales or graphic design, has experience using graphic design software, and possesses excellent attention to detail.

Elementary -
- A daily cold and hot breakfast offering from 7:55 a.m. to 8:15 a.m. served in the gym
- Students eating breakfast should enter door #1 and go directly to the gym
Middle -
- A daily cold and hot breakfast offering from 7:30 to 7:57 a.m. served in the cafeteria
High -
- A daily cold and hot breakfast offering from 7:10 to 7:30 a.m. served in the cafeteria
School provided breakfast and lunches are free and they do include milk as a component of the meal.
If your student brings a lunch from home, milk is available to purchase for the price of $.75 / ea.
In order for your student to purchase a milk, you must set up a Meal Magic Family Portal account for your student(s) and deposit funds into their account.

The East Grand Rapids Schools Foundation will hold its 15th Awards Dinner at Watermark Country Club on Wednesday, October 7. This year’s program focuses on three issues that are vital to our community and our world: local journalism, mental health, and environmental protection.
Tickets are available now on the EGR Schools Foundation's website.
Susan Lovell will be honored with the Community Service Award. Lovell co-founded the Cadence, a much-missed weekly East Grand Rapids newspaper.
Nii Addy '96 will be honored with the Distinguished Alumni Award. Addy is a neuroscientist at the Yale School of Medicine and host of the Addy Hour podcast.
Albert John Koerts “A.J.” Birkbeck '78 will be honored, posthumously, with the Distinguished Alumni Award. Birkbeck was an environmental attorney who was instrumental in exposing the most severe case of PFAS contamination in Michigan.
The 2025 and 2026 recipients of the EGRSF Excellence in Teaching and James and Georgia Nicholas Endowed Award for a Teacher of Math, Science, or Technology will also be honored at the dinner. Heather Carlson, Kailey Faris, and Andrea Dudley received the awards in 2025. This year's honorees are Kristen Borak, Adam Horos, and Corey Kapolka.

Kabookie Week
East Grand Rapids High School celebrates the life lessons of kindness, inclusivity, and friendship representing the legacy of Jimmy Gerken through Kabookie Week, held each February. Kabookie Week includes school spirit days, an assembly, and a school dance, to commemorate Jimmy and promote togetherness.
